Thieves caught after police traced stench from clothes: woman led train looting gang

A case of train theft in Banda, Uttar Pradesh, has left the public stunned as a woman, Poja, and her two accomplices were arrested for robbing passengers on board the Jhansi Express. The police solved the case based on an unlikely clue-the foul stench from the thieves' clothes.
The Theft and Investigation
On January 21, one passenger, Gajendra Singh, lodged a complaint of missing purse during the travel from Jhansi to Mahoba. Purse contained gold jewelry and many important documents. Police were informed and FIR was filed. The victims described the suspects as people in dirty clothes and accompanied with very foul smell. This arrests the attention of police, and they began investigating that place, which had the nomadic families.
The investigation led the police to uncover a gang operating out of Rajasthan, with Poja being the key figure. Poja would distract victims with conversation, allowing her accomplices to swiftly steal bags and purses.
Arrest and Recovery of Stolen Goods
After conducting a thorough investigation, the police arrested Poja and her accomplices and recovered the stolen gold jewelry and other items from them. The suspects were then sent to jail while the police continued their legal proceedings.
