Woman Assaulted After Being Drugged and Raped on Street in Madhya Pradesh; Video Goes Viral

Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, September 6, 2024 — A disturbing incident has come to light in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, where a woman was sexually assaulted after being offered alcohol under the pretense of marriage. The assault took place early in the morning on a roadside, and a video of the incident has gone viral on social media.

According to reports, the accused first offered alcohol to the woman and then committed the assault on the street before fleeing the scene. The video showing the assault and its aftermath has drawn significant attention online, leading to a swift police response.

The police were able to apprehend the suspect, identified as Lokesh, shortly after the video went viral. The woman reported to authorities that the suspect had deceived her with promises of marriage before the assault. Following the viral spread of the video, the police registered a case based on the victim’s complaint and arrested the accused.

Om Prakash Mishra, CSP of Ujjain Central Kotwali Police Station, confirmed that the accused has been brought before the court and that the police took immediate action based on the viral video evidence.
