MP to construct 18 new 'lok' inspired by Mahakal Lok to boost religious tourism
Madhya Pradesh: In an ambitious move to enhance religious and cultural tourism, the government of Madhya Pradesh has announced the construction of 18 new 'Lok' inspired by the renowned Mahakal Lok in Ujjain. Tourism Minister Dharmendra Lodhi shared this development, emphasizing the state’s commitment to promoting its rich cultural heritage.
Expanding Religious and Cultural Tourism
Following the success of the Mahakal Lok, which has gained national and international fame, the Madhya Pradesh government aims to replicate this model across the state. Tourism Minister Dharmendra Lodhi informed that Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has prioritized the construction of these new 'Lok' in a recent review meeting with the tourism department.
Details of the New 'Lok'
The plan includes the creation of 18 'Lok,' out of which 14 will be dedicated to religious themes, while 4 will focus on cultural aspects. Minister Lodhi announced that work has already commenced on 10 of these projects, with the remaining 8 set to begin soon.
