Greater Noida: Unrelenting rains on Wednesday evening caused havoc in a posh housing apartment in Greater Noida West, Uttar Pradesh. Residents of Ace Platinum Society were left astounded when rainwater infiltrated their flat, triggering a fire sprinkler and flooding the entire house. The unexpected incident turned the fire sprinkler into an unintended fountain.

A video of the incident shows water gushing out from the fire sprinkler inside the house, with water also streaming from an air conditioner installed in the same room. The heavy rainfall that lashed the National Capital Region on Wednesday led to severe disruptions, transforming roads into rivers and causing major traffic jams.

The deluge resulted in at least eight deaths across Delhi, Noida, and Gurugram. Commuters were left stranded for hours as major thoroughfares were choked with traffic. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a Red alert for the region, predicting more rain in the coming hours.

Traffic in Lutyens' Delhi and routes leading to Gurugram, Noida, Ghaziabad, and Faridabad faced severe disruptions, adding to the chaos. The relentless rain has brought life in the National Capital Region to a standstill, with authorities urging residents to stay indoors and avoid unnecessary travel.
