Noida Authority Gives Final Warning to Demolish 12 Illegal High-Rises in Barola

The Noida Authority has sent a final notice to the owners of 12 high-rise buildings in the Barola area citing illegal construction without proper authorization. They have been given 15 days to present their defense. In case of default or unsatisfactory evidence, it would lead to demolition.
Mass Illegal Constructions in Noida
Illegal construction in Barola is an old issue, which includes a number of showrooms and high-rise buildings reportedly built on government land. In a similar manner, such unauthorized development stretches over 50 villages in Noida.
Delays in Demolition till Date
Earlier this year, the Noida Authority had issued a demolition contract to an agency in May for these illegal buildings near the Hanuman Temple in Barola. The process was delayed as a stay order was issued by the Surajpur court after the building owners filed a case. The court asked the Noida Authority to hear the arguments of the owners before further action.
Final Notice Issued
The Noida Authority has resumed the process after legal proceedings were concluded. The building owners are being urged to submit proof for their claims within 15 days, failing which demolition will go ahead. This is a part of the larger initiatives by the Noida Authority to tackle unauthorized constructions and reclaim government land.
