Gautam Buddh Nagar: liquor shops in Noida and Greater Noida will remain open for an additional hour on New Year's Eve, December 31. The shops will operate from 10 am to 11 pm. However, the district excise officer has emphasized that an occasional bar license is required for serving alcohol at private and commercial parties, including those hosted at homes.

Single-Day Licenses for New Year Parties

District Excise Officer Subodh Shrivastava stated that due to the numerous New Year parties, his department will issue "single-day licenses" for ₹1,100. This process is entirely online, ensuring the safe and legal consumption of alcohol. He also highlighted that licenses for alcohol serving will differ based on the location—private parties will need a ₹4,000 license, while commercial venues such as restaurants and banquet halls will require a ₹11,000 license.

Strict Compliance for Alcohol Consumption

In a meeting with officials from the Excise Department, police, and the entertainment sector, guidelines were given to various societies regarding the need for licenses to serve alcohol at parties. Shrivastava reiterated the importance of complying with regulations and only consuming alcohol sold legally, with proper licenses.
