Amidst biting cold and a severe cold wave in Delhi-NCR, the District Magistrate of Noida, Manish Kumar Verma, has ordered closure of all government and private schools up to Class 8. The order came in after a directive was given to ensure the safety of children and an official notification was issued by the Basic Education Officer.

Action Against Non-Compliance

The order requires suspension of classes in schools until further notice. Schools that do not comply with the order will be dealt with an iron hand. Online classes are likely to begin, but the details are not known yet.

Applicable to All Boards

The closure is applicable to all boards, including UP Board and CBSE. The authorities said that the extreme cold and fog would adversely affect the health of students during morning commutes.

Primary Schools Closed Recently

Earlier, schools up to Class 5 were ordered to remain closed from December 31 to January 14 across Uttar Pradesh. This extended directive now includes schools up to Class 8 in Noida, emphasizing the administration's commitment to safeguarding children during the harsh winter season.
