A video of the incident has gone viral on social media, further highlighting the issue.
The incident took place when Aniket Jaiswal, the son of Ashish Jaiswal, a resident of L Tower, went outside to play football around 4:30 PM. As Aniket stepped out of the tower, he was surrounded by 3-4 stray dogs. In a bid to escape, he rushed back towards the tower entrance. In the process, the glass gate at the entrance shattered, but Aniket managed to escape unharmed. The entire incident was captured on CCTV.

Following the attack, Aniket's parents were understandably shaken, and on Monday, they ensured that he played under their supervision. Ashish Jaiswal, Aniket’s father, expressed concern about the safety of the residents, stating that there are more than 50 stray dogs in the society, which frequently attack people. He also mentioned that a similar incident occurred a month ago when another child was bitten by a stray dog.
Growing Concerns Among Residents
The residents of Ajnara Homes Society have repeatedly raised concerns about the increasing number of stray dogs, but they allege that no effective action has been taken so far. The situation has led to growing frustration among the community, with many fearing for their safety.
Chandan Sinha, the president of the Apartment Owners Association (AOA), acknowledged the issue, stating that there are designated areas at both society gates where food and water are provided for the stray dogs. However, he pointed out that some dog lovers are feeding the dogs at various other locations within the society, which is against the rules. This practice, he said, is contributing to the rise in the stray dog population in the area.
The residents are now calling for immediate action to address the stray dog problem before another serious incident occurs. The authorities have yet to respond to the concerns, leaving the residents anxious about their safety.
