Amazon Web Services has come up with a revolutionary service that fights this ever-rising wave of cyber threats. The company today unveiled its new AWS Security Incident Response service, designed for the cloud computing giant in a fight to help in preparing, responding to, and recovering from security events within minutes and not hours.
As cyber threats continue to heighten, AWS Security Incident Response will prove to be highly instrumental for supporting security teams in dealing with issues including account takeovers, breaches, ransomware attacks, and other corporate intrusions. According to Hart Rossman, Vice President of Global Services Security at AWS, this service integrates all forms of communications related to incidents, allowing users to deal with security incidents in more effective and efficient ways.
A recent Kaseya, a global provider of AI-powered cybersecurity and IT management software, survey brought alarming statistics to light. Three out of five organizations have an incident response (IR) plan in place, but only 37% conduct periodic drills to ensure the efficacy of their plan. This could lead to costly implementation failure without effective incident response, which can cost the world up to $23 trillion in cyberattacks by 2027, and this is bound to be an increase from the estimated value of $8.4 trillion in 2022. In India, cases of cyberattacks could even rise up to 1 trillion a year by 2033, meaning effective cybersecurity services are needed, as with the case of AWS Security Incident Response.
It harmoniously works with AWS's current detection and response tools, which constantly identify and prioritize issues based on security.
