The most intense and celebrated cricketing rivalry in the world gets another chapter when India and Australia lock horns at Perth's Optus Stadium from November 22 onwards as they continue the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Wicket-keeper Rishabh Pant appears to be a likely star for India both with his gloves and words.

BGT Highlights: Rishabh Pant is India's Animated Wicket-Keeper

Rishabh Pant has become an essential player for the Indian cricket team. He is known for his fearless spirit and confident voice when operating behind the wickets; he usually creates a ruckus among the opposition batsmen by saying some sarcastic remarks and banter. Sledging, which was very popular with MS Dhoni, has been taken to another level by Pant with a touch of humor in his on-field conversations.
It was on Boxing Day in 2018-19 Border-Gavaskar Trophy Test at Melbourne where Pant's comment still rings in everyone's mind when he gave some hilarious comeback to the then captain Tim Paine of Australia about their typical sledging style.

Pant was cheeky: We've got a special guest here. Come on, boys, let's give it up for the temporary captain'. The banter was amusing, but had some bite to it at that time, with Australian cricket in a dire state of affairs. Paine had risen through the ranks after acrimonious circumstances following the scandal surrounding Steve Smith and David Warner being banned from international cricket over the controversy surrounding Sandpaper Gate.

Building Up to Border-Gavaskar 2024-25 The animation of Pant behind the stumps will be very important for India to get up in the face of Australia once again. And, of course, there is a possibility that Indians can make much out of it by getting in the skins of the opponents and making them lose their cool. With Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah, everything is set up for another show with the Indians.
