IND vs NZ : New Zealand has reached 171/9 at the end of Day 2, where it is leading by 143 runs with one wicket remaining. The Kiwi team will look forward to building a stronger lead.

New Zealand finished the second day of the Mumbai Test against India at 171/9, leading India by 143 runs. No one is still out for New Zealand except for Ajaz Patel and William O'Rourke. Ravindra Jadeja was the best of the bowlers for India who took 4 wickets, while Ravi Ashwin took 3. Akashdeep and Washington Sundar took one each. A total of 15 wickets fell for both teams on the second day.

Earlier, India continued their innings at 84/4 and went promisingly till Shubman Gill and Rishabh Pant post 96 runs for the fifth wicket. From there on, Indian batsmen kept losing wickets at a steady interval, and they lost for 263 runs.

Rishabh Pant batted well with a score of 60 from 59 balls, comprising 8 fours and 2 sixes. On the other side, Shubman Gill got unlucky not to get his hundred; the score was 90, which he achieved by hitting the ball 7 times four and once over the ropes. Sarfaraz got out without facing a ball, Ravindra Jadeja contributed with 14 runs, Ravi Ashwin added 6 and Akashdeep was able to score duck while his partner Washington Sundar has played a brilliant game; he added 38.

New Zealand bowling was at its best with the bowling done by Ajaz Patel as he took 5 wickets. Matt Henry, Glenn Phillips, and Ish Sodhi each took one wicket. Patel's performance was critical in limiting India's score and the lead.

On the third day, New Zealand is struggling at 171/9 and is very much behind India, which is in the upper hand. The remaining batsmen of New Zealand will look for adding some more runs to their side, making it important for both teams when play resumes as they both want to take control over this very competitive Test.
