MS Dhoni Gets 'Schooled' on Cricket Rules by Wife Sakshi in Viral Video, Shares Hilarious Stumping Story!
In a viral moment for social media, former India cricket captain MS Dhoni narrated an amusing piece of his wife Sakshi Dhoni correcting him on what he thought was a rule or a part of cricket he was aware of. Well, despite holding the international record for the most stumpings with 195, which came in 538 innings, Dhoni revealed here that even he was 'schooled' on the rules governing stumpings by Sakshi.
Speaking at a recent event, Dhoni recalled the instance when they were together watching an ODI. "The bowler bowling a wide, and the batter stepping out and was stumped," Dhoni shared with a smile on his face. Sakshi insisted, It's not out' saying you can't get stumped on a wide. I tried to explain her, but she confidently kept telling me, 'You don't know anything Wait, the umpires will call him back.' Sakshi did not budge with her explanation till the umpire confirmed Dhoni's view in which they both burst into laughter.
The funny story went viral on the internet and Dhoni's relaxed narration over the episode further adds to his legendary aura.
Meanwhile, Dhoni dropped a hint that he is likely to play for the upcoming season of Indian Premier League 2024. The rosters must be finalized by any franchise on or before October 31st. It had been reinstatement of the rule that was in practice only prior to this amendment; five-year retired cricketers now come in the category of uncapped, which gives the CSK a lot of hope in regards to the possibility of having Dhoni along. According to sources close to the matter, the veteran captain might return once again in a limited edition for an extended stay into cricket and its glitz-glam as Dhoni is reported saying, "I just want to enjoy whatever last few years of cricket I'm able to play."
But in general, CSK chief executive officer Kasi Viswanathan also feels pretty hopeful for Dhoni returning back despite Dhoni himself, knee surgery in 2023 has restricted him down as not too high in batting order of the IPL match. According to Dhoni, it was just he batted low down in an order just to provide match opportunities for Indian players and more towards the T20 World Cup. "If others are doing their job well, why do I need to come up the order?" he explained, referencing teammates like Ravindra Jadeja and Shivam Dube, who were contenders for the national team.
