Iran's Ayatollah Khamenei Issues Warning as Israel Strikes Iran, Killing Iranian Soldiers
New Delhi — Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has threatened Israel with severe punishment amid a rising Middle Eastern tension after a series of strikes by Israel on Iranian territories killed Iranian soldiers. These strikes, conducted on October 26, allegedly killed at least two Iranian soldiers and seriously damaged Iran's long-range ballistic missile capabilities and air defense systems. Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Sunday, October 27, that the attack was "precise and powerful," achieving all intended objectives.
Ayatollah Khamenei took to social media platform X formerly known as Twitter, and said a stern word to Israel not to underestimate the power of Iran. "Zionists are committing a mistake about Iran," he wrote. "They still have not been able to properly understand the Iranian people's power, initiative, and will. We need to make them realize these things." He added that it is the duty of the officials of Iran to decide and carry out steps in the interest of Iran.
The airstrikes targeted the Iranian military structures by reducing the infrastructure capability for ballistic missile production. Netanyahu told the public that their country's actions were retaliatory measures against an earlier attack that it attributed to Iran, saying that "We promised we would respond.the attack in Iran was precise and powerful, achieving all of its objectives.".
The rising battle, which was already tensioned by Hamas's previous attack on Israel and retaliatory responses from Israel along Gaza and Lebanon, placed West Asia in a delicate state. Iran, Hamas's most ardent backer, declared that the country would not back off from the situation and remained committed to fighting against Israel's activities in Gaza and Lebanon. The Israeli media reported that, after the recent bombardments, IAF had also destroyed several air defense systems belonging to Iran besides the loss of lives and infrastructures.
