Virat Kohli is all set to make his much-anticipated return to the Ranji Trophy after 13 years, and the excitement surrounding his comeback has already prompted a major decision by a ₹24,000 crore company, JioCinema. Here's a look at how Kohli's return is creating waves, both on and off the field.

Kohli's Comeback to Ranji Trophy

Virat Kohli will represent his home team, Delhi, in the upcoming Ranji Trophy match against Railways, scheduled from January 30 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. This marks his first appearance in the tournament after over a decade. To celebrate this iconic comeback, the Delhi & District Cricket Association (DDCA) has made special arrangements to host 10,000 fans, offering them the opportunity to witness Kohli in action.

JioCinema Steps Up for Kohli’s Fans

Initially, Kohli’s match was not included in the BCCI's broadcast schedule for Ranji Trophy games, which planned to telecast only three matches: Karnataka vs. Haryana, Bengal vs. Punjab, and Jammu & Kashmir vs. Baroda. However, due to Kohli's massive fan following, JioCinema has decided to stream his match live, enabling cricket lovers across the country to enjoy Kohli’s batting performances.

Fan Arrangements at Arun Jaitley Stadium

With Kohli's presence expected to draw a huge crowd, DDCA President Rohan Jaitley announced special seating arrangements at the stadium. Fans will be seated at the North End and Old Club House stands, with space for 10,000 spectators. If necessary, additional ground-floor sections of other stands will also be opened to accommodate the fans.

Missed January 23 Return Due to Injury

Virat Kohli’s comeback was initially expected on January 23, alongside Rohit Sharma, who returned to Ranji Trophy action for Mumbai after 10 years. However, Kohli’s return was delayed due to a neck injury, forcing him to skip Delhi's match against Saurashtra. Despite the setback, Kohli confirmed his participation in the January 30 game, creating a buzz among fans eager to see him in domestic cricket again.

Virat Kohli’s return to the Ranji Trophy is more than just a cricketing moment—it’s a celebration for fans and a significant event for Indian cricket. With JioCinema stepping in to live-stream the match and DDCA ensuring memorable fan experiences at the stadium, Kohli’s comeback promises to be a grand affair. Fans nationwide are eagerly awaiting to see what the cricketing superstar delivers on the field after 13 years.
