Rishikesh Municipal Elections: Preparations in Full Gear Ahead of Scheduled Rishikesh Municipal Corporation Elections The Mayor post for the corporation elections is reserved for Scheduled Caste candidates, and the party has received seven applications for the post, with over 65 for the councilor posts that would be submitted to the high command of the party shortly for the final go-ahead.

Front Runner Among Congress Candidates

Among the key contenders for the Congress ticket, Deepak Jatav is one of the strongest candidates. Jatav started his political career with NSUI. He was its president for six years. He has held key positions such as:

State Secretary of the Congress Committee

He is quite a frontrunner for the party's nomination because of his experience and active participation in student and youth politics.
