Why Does Dimple Yadav Call Akhilesh 'Dada'? A Love Story Straight Out of a Movie
Akhilesh and Dimple Yadav celebrated 25 years of marriage on November 24, 2024. Their love story is a blend of romance and resilience, as Akhilesh overcame family opposition with the help of his grandmother, Murti Devi, to marry Dimple. Known as a power couple in Indian politics, Dimple affectionately calls Akhilesh "Dada," reflecting their unique bond. Despite challenges, their relationship remains strong, inspiring many.
Uttar Pradesh's former Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav and wife Dimple Yadav recently completed 25 years of marriage, described by many as a journey interspersed with love, challenges, and resilience. Married on 24th November 1999, the couple is often seen as an ideal partnership, bolstered by an unbreakable bond that still remains unchanged after two decades.
The love story of the couple is nothing short of a cinematic affair. Akhilesh and Dimple met through a mutual friend in Lucknow, and their bonding took years to get better. Akhilesh, however, could not be anywhere else than Australia, for his studies. Yet, he didn't forget to send letters depicting his love. However, their families were opposed to the match—both Akhilesh's father, Mulayam Singh Yadav, and Dimple's father were against the match. The intervention of Mulayam Singh was meted out by Akhilesh's grandmother, Murti Devi, who convinced him eventually.
The perseverance on the part of Akhilesh also matters here. When the political leader Amar Singh suggested that he focus on building up his career before marriage, Akhilesh responded with an unwavering stance stating that marriage was his priority and he would focus on his career later. This earned him a lavish wedding heaved with so much fun.
Interestingly, Dimple fondly refers to Akhilesh as "Dada," a name that clearly epitomizes their endearing relationship. Vikas Dubey famously nicknames Akhilesh as "Bhaiya" at Samajwadi Party rallies. Laced with such loving endearments from Dimple, the couple has three children, one son, and two daughters, and remains an inspiring force as a power couple in Indian politics, representing Kannauj and Mainpuri constituencies, respectively.
