Five comedians from the popular TV show "India’s Got Latent" have been served with a defamation notice by a doctor from Uttar Pradesh. The doctor, who is differently-abled, alleges that in one of the episodes, offensive language was used to mock disabled individuals, and they were ridiculed through imitation. The doctor has also demanded that the episode be removed from YouTube and all other platforms.
Dr. Satendra Singh, a resident of Vasundhara Sector-5 in Ghaziabad, and the founder of ‘Doctors with Disabilities,’ has sent the notice through advocate Karuvaki Mohanty. The defamation notice has been addressed to YouTube, 'The Habitat' Comedy and Music Cafe in Mumbai, and comedians Samay Raina, Nishant Tanwar (Joke Singh), Sonali Thakker, Vipul Gupta, and Santosh Patra.
