Raita with Extra Protein?" Live Insect Found in IRCTC VIP Lounge Food Sparks Outrage!

NEW DELHI – What was supposed to be a pleasant meal turned into a shocking experience for Aryansh Singh, a passenger dining at the IRCTC VIP Executive Lounge. Singh was horrified to discover a live insect, commonly known as a "gojar" (centipede), swimming in his raita, a traditional Indian yogurt-based side dish. The incident not only ruined his meal but raised serious concerns about the quality of food served by IRCTC (Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation).

Singh immediately took to social media, posting his experience on X (formerly Twitter), and his post quickly went viral. The post featured a picture of the raita with the insect clearly visible, sparking widespread outrage among netizens.

Viral Post Garners Reactions: "Raita Turned into Protein Shake!"

In a sarcastic tone, Singh captioned his post, "Yes, Indian Railways has certainly improved the quality of its food. Now they're serving extra 'protein' with the raita." The image of the insect floating in the dish led to a flurry of reactions, with many expressing their disgust and frustration over IRCTC’s food standards.

Social media users were quick to share the post, adding to the debate on food safety in Indian Railways. Many questioned the overall quality of food served by the railways, especially in premium services like the VIP lounge. "If this is happening in a VIP lounge, imagine what must be going on in regular trains," commented one user.

Passenger's Warning Ignored by Others

Singh further elaborated on the incident in his post, stating that the discovery happened in the IRCTC VIP Executive Lounge, where he immediately warned fellow passengers to avoid the food. However, to his surprise, many didn’t take his warning seriously, continuing with their meals.

Social Media Backlash and IRCTC’s Response

As the post continued to gain traction, many users called out IRCTC for negligence and demanded accountability. "This is disgusting," wrote one user, while another urged Singh to file an official complaint to ensure strict action is taken.

In response to the growing controversy, IRCTC issued an apology through their official X account. "We sincerely apologize for the incident and are looking into the matter. We are committed to maintaining the highest standards of hygiene and quality," the post read. However, the apology did little to quell the anger of the public, with many questioning how such an incident could happen in a VIP lounge.

A Major Blow to IRCTC's Reputation

This incident has sparked a larger conversation about the quality of food served by IRCTC in both premium and standard services. With social media amplifying the voices of dissatisfied customers, the railways will likely face increased scrutiny over food safety protocols in the coming days.

For now, the incident remains a stark reminder of the importance of maintaining hygiene and quality control in public services, especially in high-profile areas such as VIP lounges. Whether this leads to meaningful changes in IRCTC’s catering services remains to be seen, but the public is certainly demanding better standards moving forward.
