Maharashtra News: Protests Continue in Parbhani: Teachers Demand Action with Third Day of Mundan Movement
In Parbhani, teachers have intensified their protest with a third day of mundan (head-shaving) agitation, demanding action on various pending issues. The protest is taking place in front of the Pathri Tehsil office, where teachers and non-teaching staff from partially aided schools have launched a hunger strike. Their demands include the implementation of the next pay step for these teachers starting from January 1, 2024, without any conditions, along with other long-standing issues.
Despite the protest having been ongoing for three days, no elected or administrative officials have visited the site to address the teachers' concerns. This lack of response has led to heightened frustration among the protesters, prompting them to shave their heads as a mark of their protest and to publicly denounce the government.

The agitating teachers have warned that if their demands are not promptly addressed, they will escalate their protest to a more drastic measure by performing a water immersion protest in the Godavari River with their families.
