FORDA communicated their dissatisfaction by citing the impacts this may have on an academic cycle for 2025 and the necessity for a timelier schedule. As highlighted by a recent statement, "The 4-month delay makes the timeline for 2025 challenging. The vicious cycle continues for the 3rd year straight."

Beyond the scheduling delay, though, the biggest legal development will feature when the Supreme Court takes up a plea concerning alleged anomalies in NEET PG results on November 19. A plea by 19 aspirants concerned over erratic scoring patterns and last-minute changes in the examination has been filed with the apex court. The petitioners sought an end to the alleged irregularities of the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences by demanding the release of answer keys and raw scores from it.

NEET PG 2024 was held on August 11, finally, after several postponements, and the results are out on August 23 for more than 216,000 candidates. The outcome, however, is questioned due to errors,such as an extremely abnormal spike in top scores and lesser than expected marks for candidates taking the exam in the second shift.

The National Medical Commission has recently sanctioned the power of the NBEMS for assisting State Counselling Authorities in framing state-specific merit lists related to the NEET PG Counselling process for seats booked under the State Quota.
