Pakistan has once again violated the ceasefire agreement along the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch district, Jammu and Kashmir. On Wednesday evening, Pakistani forces opened fire in the Balakot sector, prompting a strong retaliation from the Indian Army.

According to intelligence sources, militants had planted an IED near the fencing to target Indian soldiers. In an explosion along the LoC in Poonch, one Indian soldier sustained injuries. Reports indicate Pakistani casualties due to the Indian Army’s retaliatory action.

Recent Ceasefire Violations by Pakistan

Pakistan has been engaging in multiple ceasefire violations over the past week:

February 8: Pakistani forces fired at Indian patrol troops in Rajouri, prompting a swift counterattack by the Indian Army.
Sniper Attack: In Nowshera sector, a sniper bullet fired from across the border injured an Indian soldier.
IED Attack in Akhnoor: A blast near LoC, planted by terrorists, killed a Captain and two Indian soldiers, while another was injured.

Pakistan’s Attempt to Destabilize Jammu Region

With terrorist activities decreasing in Kashmir, Pakistan is now trying to fuel unrest in the Jammu region. Recently, in the Keri sector of Rajouri, terrorists attempted infiltration, but alert Indian troops foiled the attempt. The Indian Army continues to strengthen security along the LoC to counter Pakistan’s hostile activities.
