Who Is Rachel Gupta? Miss Grand International Winner Takes Exit

Rachel Gupta, who became the first Indian to win Miss Grand International, has now resigned from her crown. She shared this information by sharing a long post on Instagram and wrote that she had to face "false promises, misbehavior and toxic environment".
Rachel Gupta's Historic Journey and Shocking Decision
Rachel Gupta is a 21-year-old model from Jalandhar, Punjab. She won the title of Miss Grand International 2024 on 25 October 2024. Earlier, on 11 August 2024, she won the Miss Grand India 2024 competition held at Zee Studios in Jaipur.
But on 28 May 2025, Rachel surprised everyone by announcing on Instagram that she is now leaving this crown. She wrote, "Becoming Miss Grand International was the dream of my life, but the experiences that came after this were very sad - broken promises, misbehavior and toxic environment. Now I can't remain silent anymore."
Miss Grand International Organization's response
Miss Grand International Organization also reacted to this and wrote on Instagram that they have dismissed Rachel Gupta for breach of contract.The organization said that Rachel participated in external projects without permission and refused to go on official trips. Therefore, she will have to return the crown within 30 days.
Who is Rachel Gupta?
Rachel Gupta, who was born on 23 January 2004 in Patiala, Punjab, was interested in modeling since childhood. She has won the title of Miss Supertalent of the World 2022 in Paris, where contestants from more than 50 countries participated. She also donated essential items worth 10,000 THB to the Foundation for Slum Child Care in Bangkok. Rachel Gupta became the first Indian and only the third Asian woman to win Miss Grand International. Now after her resignation, Christine Juliane Opiaza (Philippines) has been declared the new Miss Grand International 2024.Rachel also apologized to the fans in her post. She wrote, "I know you all will be disappointed with this news. But this was the right decision for me."
