In a surprising incident from Rajasthan's Alwar district, a woman eloped with her boyfriend while her husband was on a pilgrimage to Haridwar to fetch the sacred water of the Ganges as part of the Kanwar Yatra. The woman took ₹1.5 lakh in cash and some jewelry from their home before fleeing.

Husband Rushes Back Home

The incident took place in a village near Raini town. The husband, who had left for Haridwar with his friends for the Kanwar Yatra, received a distressing call from his disabled father, informing him about his wife's disappearance. He immediately handed over his Kanwar (sacred water vessel) to a friend and rushed back to Alwar. Upon returning, he found that his wife had left with cash and jewelry.

Police Investigation Underway

The distressed husband reported the incident to the police, leading to an FIR being filed. Deputy SP Manish Meena is leading the investigation. According to him, the woman is an adult and appears to have left willingly with her lover. Superintendent of Police Anand Sharma confirmed that efforts are being made to locate the woman and her boyfriend.

Money for Pilgrimage Program Stolen

The husband revealed that the stolen money was intended for a Kanwar program in the village, for which funds had been collected and entrusted to his wife for safekeeping. The disappearance of both the woman and the funds has left the family and the community in shock.

The police are currently questioning locals and tracking leads to find the couple. The case has sparked concern in the village, highlighting the complexities of trust and relationships within the community.
