Did Sameer Wankhede Leak Shah Rukh Khan's Chats? Says 'No Regrets, Aryan Khan Is Not a Child'
The year 2021 was tumultuous for the Shah Rukh Khan family after his son Aryan Khan was arrested in a drug case led by Sameer Wankhede, then NCB's Zonal Director. Aryan spent 25 days behind bars before bail was granted to him, and later, all charges were acquitted against him.
No Regrets Over Arrest
Wankhede has addressed allegations of targeting Shah Rukh Khan's son in a recent interview with NEWJ. He rejected being singled out by the media but said, "I feel fortunate for the support I have received from middle-class people who believe that rules apply to everyone, no matter how big they are. I have no regrets. If given another chance, I would do the same."
Regarding Leaking Shah Rukh's Chats
Denying the charges that he had leaked Shah Rukh Khan's private chats, Wankhede said he was not "weak enough to leak things." He declined to say anything else, referring instead to an affidavit submitted in court; he also rebuffed the argument that the leakage was designed to make Shah Rukh and Aryan the victims.
Bribery Allegations and Aryan's Arrest
Reacting to allegations of seeking a ₹25 crore bribe to let Aryan go, Wankhede said, "I never let Aryan go; I arrested him. The case is in court, and I trust the judiciary." He also rejected the allegations of harassment, saying, "I don't believe I arrested a child. At 23, Bhagat Singh gave his life for the nation. You cannot call him a child."
