Swiss Air Investigates Crew After Viral Video of Couple's Sexual Activity on Flight
A disturbing viral video showing a couple engaging in sexual activity onboard a Swiss Air flight has sparked widespread outrage, prompting an internal investigation by the airline. The footage, filmed by cockpit-controlled security cameras, was recorded during a 12-hour flight from Bangkok to Zurich in November.
The video shows the couple secretly engaging in the act in the first-class galley, and it was reportedly shared by the flight's cockpit crew in group chats, which later went viral on social media. This breach of privacy has led Swiss Air to launch an investigation into the actions of its crew members. The airline has condemned the filming and sharing of the footage, stating that it violated data protection regulations and the company's own guidelines.
Swiss Air spokesperson Meike Fuhlrott emphasized that the filming of individuals without their consent, as well as the distribution of such content, is against the airline’s values and privacy standards. She added that the crew, upon noticing the couple, should have intervened rather than recording the act. "Respectful interactions and trust with our passengers are of utmost priority," she stated.
The airline is now working to determine how the footage was leaked and to hold accountable those responsible for filming and circulating the video. The viral nature of the video and accompanying sarcastic commentary on social media have further fueled the controversy, with many criticizing the airline and its crew for their lack of professionalism and respect.
