Donald Trump Taps Elon Musk, Vivek Ramaswamy for Cabinet in ‘Save America’ Push
President-elect Donald Trump has appointed Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy to lead a new Department of Government Efficiency. Their roles will focus on cutting bureaucracy, eliminating waste, and restructuring federal agencies as part of Trump’s "Save America" initiative.
President-elect Donald Trump announced that tech entrepreneur Elon Musk would lead a newly formed "Department of Government Efficiency," a position Trump alluded to during the campaign. Musk and Indian-American entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy will work together to reduce bureaucratic red tape, eliminate unwarranted expenses, and reorganize federal agencies- tasks critical in the "Save America" agenda that Trump promised for America.
Recently, President Trump said he was enthusiastic about the appointments, stating, "Elon and Vivek will be instrumental in overhauling federal bureaucracy to improve efficiency and positively impact Americans' daily lives." Emphasis was placed on attacking "waste and fraud" within government systems.
Trump won the presidential election recently as he defeated his Democratic opponent Kamala Harris with a result of 69 electoral votes. In the speech after winning, Trump called Musk an "amazing and super genius," referring to when Musk spent two weeks canvassing in Pennsylvania for the campaign.
