Major Collision Between Two Planes at Airport Averts Disaster, 277 Passengers Narrowly Escape
A significant collision occurred between two planes at Atlanta International Airport on Tuesday. The incident took place while the planes were being moved to their designated positions. The aircraft involved were a Delta Airbus A350 and an Endeavor Bombardier CRJ900 jet. All 271 passengers on board the two flights were safely transferred to other planes and departed without delay.
The U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) confirmed that the wing of Delta Flight 295 struck the rear of Endeavor Air Flight 5526, causing damage. Both planes were on the taxiway when the collision occurred. Delta's Airbus A350 was preparing to depart for Tokyo, while the Endeavor aircraft was set to fly to Louisiana. It is important to note that Endeavor Air is a subsidiary of Delta Airlines.
While the collision resulted in damage to the wing of one plane and the rear of the other, no injuries were reported. Viral videos on social media show the aftermath, with the tail section of one aircraft significantly damaged by the other.
The FAA is investigating the incident, but no major disruptions to flight schedules were reported.
