Hyundai Inster Bags 2025 World Electric Vehicle Title at NY Auto Show
Hyundai's Inster, a compact electric SUV, has won the coveted 2025 World Electric Vehicle Award, gaining international recognition at the New York International Auto Show. As the electric version of the Hyundai Casper, the Inster has emerged as a market leader in the EV segment.
A Milestone Victory for Hyundai
This is an important milestone not only for the Inster but also for Hyundai Motor Company at large. As recent winner of Kia with its EV3 car winning the award of the 2025 World Car of the Year, Hyundai Motor Company continues to follow its path of success and achievements as an innovative brand with prestige.
The win adds to Hyundai’s consistent success at the World Car Awards, making 2025 the fourth consecutive year the company has taken top honors in one or more categories. Hyundai’s accolades include:
- 2024: Ioniq 5 N – World Performance Car
- 2023 & 2022: Ioniq 5 and Ioniq 6 – Multiple category wins
World Car Awards winners are chosen by a jury of 96 journalists representing more than 30 countries, by a secret voting process.
Hyundai Inster: Compact, Capable, and City-Ready
Launched in June 2024, the Hyundai Inster is an electric variant of the Casper crossover. It features a competitive starting price of about KRW 31.5 million (around ₹19 lakh). Towards the end of 2024, Hyundai launched the tough Inster Cross EV, which has found its way into global markets like the UK.
Designed for urban mobility, the Inster offers a stylish and functional package. Its compact size is perfect for city driving, and it delivers a driving range of up to 370 km on a single charge, thanks to a 49kWh battery. The EV also supports fast charging, allowing a 10% to 80% charge in just 30 minutes.
