New Suzuki Swift AllGrip FX Debuts: 32mm Higher Ground Clearance, Off-Road Upgrades

Suzuki Netherlands has launched a special interpretation of its best-selling Swift hatchback—the Swift AllGrip FX—a special AWD version designed for off-road looks and light adventure capability. While the regular Swift AllGrip (sold in Japan and Europe) emphasizes snow and slippery road traction, the FX model introduces tough styling and functional enhancements.
What's New in the Swift AllGrip FX?
- Raised Suspension: Ground clearance raised by 32mm for a more authoritative stance.
- Off-Road Styling: Equipped with a Thule roof rack, front LED light bar, Suzuki badges painted black, and black 16-inch alloy wheels fitted with Michelin CrossClimate 2 tires (195/55 R16).
- Premium Interior: Dual-tone leather seats, rubber floor mats, and an integrated cool box.
Under the Hood
The FX retains the standard AllGrip’s 1.2L Z12E 3-cylinder petrol engine (81 bhp, 112 Nm), paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox and Suzuki’s AllGrip AWD system. The system automatically redirects power to wheels with the most traction, ideal for slippery conditions.
Why It’s a One-Off
The Swift AllGrip FX is a one-off project of Suzuki Netherlands and not a mass-produced model. Even if produced, it's doubtful to hit India because of cost factors and the priority of Maruti Suzuki in offering budget variants. Interestingly, India's Swift doesn't even have the AWD or the worldwide 1.0L turbo-petrol engine variant.
Final Thoughts
While the Swift AllGrip FX’s adventurous tweaks are enticing, its limited availability underscores Suzuki’s regional strategy. For now, Indian buyers must settle for the standard Swift, leaving off-road aspirations to aftermarket modifications.
