Rain Preparedness: Tamil Nadu Deputy CM Udhayanidhi Stalin Visits Disaster HQ as Heavy Rains Promise to Drench Chennai and Adjacent Districts

Chennai: Tamil Nadu Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin visited Tamil Nadu State Disaster Head Office located at Ezhilagam Bhavan in Chennai. Meanwhile, Tamil Nadu officials are keeping close watch on the situation as they have been warning with forecast of heavy rains in a few parts of the state.
Isolated heavy rains have been forecast by the India Meteorological Department in some districts in and around Chennai, which include Tiruvallur, Kancheepuram, Chengalpattu, Cuddalore, Mayiladuthurai, Nagapattinam, Thanjavur, Tiruvarur, Pudukkottai, Ramanathapuram, and Villuppuram. The rainfall warning includes Puducherry, a union territory, as well as the region of Karaikal.
The inspection underscores the proactive efforts of the Tamil Nadu government to be ready in case such heavy rain falls bring along any brewing trouble mainly in terms of waterlogging and flooding along with disturbances in the delivery of essential services.
