Karwa Chauth Horror in Delhi: Man Accused of Killing Pregnant Girlfriend, Buried Her in Betrayal Shock

Delhi, India — In a tragic and chilling incident in the Nangloi area of Delhi, a man named Salim alias Sanju murdered his pregnant girlfriend, Soni, on Karwa Chauth, police said. The crime was allegedly planned by Salim on October 21 along with his two friends, Ritik and Pankaj. The three are said to have engaged a car, taken Soni to the Haryana city of Rohtak, strangled her to death, and buried her body deep at four feet level inside a remote forested area.

Heartbreak of Betrayal

Soni was 20 and head over heels in love with Salim, for whom she even fasts on Karwa Chauth, a traditional fasting day for the married and engaged females from Hinduism. On the fateful day when all this happened, Salim asked her to meet him saying it was a special day. She happily went along, not suspecting anything about what he might be up to.

Inside the car, he drove to Rohtak, where he strangled her to death allegedly with the assistance of his friends. After that, they had buried the body and returned to Delhi to return the rental car. Thereafter, they regained their normal lives.

Investigation

Soni's family worried when she failed to return. It was upon this that her father filed a missing person's report. In the course of investigation, they found that she was in a relationship with some lad called "Sanju," whom she termed as "Bhoot" on her phone and other social media profiles as well. The Instagram bio did mention, "I Love Bhoot," as she was referring to the alias of her boyfriend, Salim, who went under the pseudonym Sanju. In the course of questioning Soni's family members, they unveiled that she has saved his number under "Bhoot" and rarely stopped speaking of his name.

A Shocking Revelation

Soni's sister disclosed that though her family was anxious when she had such relations with Sanju, she got married to him since her family used to think that Sanju will get married to her as well. They were not aware of his actual name being Salim, also belonging to a different community. They had allowed this relation in light of their assumption that he also followed the same religion.

Motivation behind Murder

The police arrested Salim on October 23 after tracing his last call with Soni. Under interrogation, Salim reportedly admitted that he had gone to Soni several times for the abortion and she had refused. The argument gradually took a violent turn, and Salim committed the murder.

As part of the investigation, Salim's accomplices were also found: Pankaj has already been arrested and Ritik is on the run. The police have launched a manhunt for Ritik. They are likely to find him soon.

Agony of the Family and Demand for Justice

The family of Soni is broken down, coming to terms with how such a fate has overtaken her. They were shocked, saying they did not know Salim was the alias. They were heartbroken because they had lost their daughter under such agonizing circumstances.
