Karan Johar, a renowned filmmaker, has often faced trolling and criticism, but he has always handled it with strength. Recently, Karan opened up about his childhood experiences, revealing that he felt "different from other boys" while growing up.

Feeling Different in His Early Years

In a conversation with astrologer-spiritual coach Dr. Jai Madaan on her YouTube channel, Karan shared how he struggled with feeling different. He recalled, “Mujhe laga main doosron ladkon ki tarah nahin hoon.” Karan explained that he didn't share the same interests or style as other boys. It took him years to accept that he didn’t owe anyone an apology for being different. “I’ve embraced who I am, and that’s become my power,” he added.

Facing Hurtful Comments

Karan also talked about the hurtful comments he received as a child. He was often called “pansy” because of his feminine traits, which deeply disturbed him. He described how these comments made him question his identity. However, instead of letting these remarks break him, Karan eventually learned to embrace his uniqueness.

Finding Comfort and Building Self-Love

The 52-year-old director revealed that during this challenging period, he found comfort in food, leading to weight gain between the ages of 7-9. But over time, Karan learned to love himself. Today, he takes pride in his journey, saying, “To this day, I have never regretted the way I’ve lived or the work I’ve pursued. Everything I do is for me, unapologetically. I just want to live my truth.”

Conclusion: Living Unapologetically

Karan Johar's story is a powerful reminder of the importance of self-acceptance. Despite facing negativity, he has embraced his true self and continues to live his life unapologetically.
