BJPs Daring Challenge to Jharkhand: Save Land, Livelihood and Daughters-An Amit Shah Election Manifesto

In a very loud release of the Jharkhand assembly election manifesto, Union Home Minister Amit Shah announced his party's commitment to "land, livelihood, and daughters," pointing out its efforts in the fight to preserve the rights of the tribal community. Shah let out his vision of a "corruption-free" and "development-driven" Jharkhand, an effort that tries to get rid of the deep-seated problems the people of the state suffer from, especially the original inhabitants.

Promise of a "Land, Livelihood, and Daughters"- Protecting Rights for All End

The BJP manifesto will centre on a promise to continue the "Matti, Roti, Beti" (land, livelihood, daughters) framework called by Shah. He further emphasized that the protection of rights of indigenous people of Jharkhand, which includes the protection of land and dignity, is central. Therefore, all of these commitments will be represented in the form of community protection initiatives, women's security initiatives, and initiatives for economic empowerment in the manifesto.

"Through discussions with millions across Jharkhand, we've built this manifesto that embodies the hopes and expectations of the people," Shah claimed, asserting that the document reflects the party's priority about saving tribal lands, their livelihoods, and their daughters. Shah called up the people of Jharkhand to opt for a government that promises protection rather than one that claims to be open to invasion and threatens the integrity of the local community.

Important Promises in the Manifesto

The BJP manifesto has promises to change the socio-economic landscape of Jharkhand in many ways:

Support to Women and Families: Each woman in the state shall get ₹2,100 per month as part of the Gogo Didi Scheme, whereas families shall receive a free gas cylinder during Diwali and Raksha Bandhan.

Employment Schemes: BJP will provide five million jobs in the next five years. It will employ 287,500 in government posts and give a monthly allowance of ₹2,000 to unemployed youth.

Infrastructure for Education and Health: It includes ten new government medical colleges, a nursing college in each district, and a ₹500-crore Siddho Kano Research Center.

Farmer-friendly: The party assures farmers of a hike in minimum support price of paddy from ₹3,100 to a quintal and tur along with ragi to be included under MSP.

Improvement in Infrastructure: In the major cities of the country, there would be a Diamond Quadrilateral Expressway and a new Johar Jharkhand Bhavan that will also help in development and increase representation.

Focus on tribal security and anti-corruption activities.

Directly targeting the alleged misgovernance by the Hemant Soren government, the BJP manifesto pointed at what it claims to be growing cases of intrusion and encroachment in land, alleging that the Soren government has not taken enough action against them. The BJP has focused on protection of tribal lands and resources and promises, "We will act against land encroachment, especially by Bangladeshi infiltrators, to preserve Jharkhand's distinctive demography.".

Efficiency Justice Accountability

The BJP's manifesto has several promises against corruption and towards accountability, which includes an idea for a new investigating commission on misgovernance and corruption. Shah attacked the Soren government, claiming it has stalled many crucial development projects, particularly those undertaken by the Centre under the prime ministerial leadership of Narendra Modi. In criticizing previous governance, Shah said, "From Congress' time to Soren's term, promises went unfulfilled, with tribal communities left to fend for themselves.".

Vision for Self-Reliant Jharkhand

Summing up the manifesto, Shah said BJP planned for a self-sustaining, safe, and prosperous Jharkhand. Further, he claimed that plans of the BJP were aimed for community welfare, economic empowerment, and infrastructural development that would "define a state which will stand strong, free from intrusion and corruption." The BJP manifesto pointed out the fact that the party had the mission to build an affluent Jharkhand where people, especially its tribal, will feel secured, empowered, and respectable.
