Diwali Tragedy Averted: 29 Bihar Police Personnel Injured in Ballia Bus Crash En Route to Duty

In a tragic accident just days before Diwali, a bus carrying Bihar Special Arms Police personnel met with a mishap in Ballia, Uttar Pradesh, leaving 29 injured. The private bus, on its way to Siwan, Bihar, overturned late at night, skidding off the road and falling into a roadside ditch. The police personnel were reportedly heading for peace and security duties ahead of Diwali and the Chhath festival.
Following the accident, ten of the injured were taken to the district hospital in Ballia for urgent care, and 19 others received treatment at the Community Health Center in Sonbarsa, Bairia. According to officials, all injured personnel are reported to be stable.
This is the second major bus accident reported this week. And on October 29, a bus in Jammu & Kashmir's Udhampur district veered off the road near Farma village, injuring approximately 30 passengers including nursing students. All the injured were taken to Government Medical College Hospital immediately. The Deputy Commissioner of Udhampur, Saloni Rai, personally visited the injured.
Both the incidents suggest that how road safety is important; especially while traveling increases during major festivals. As more medical care is being provided, rescue operations are being continued, the authorities started investigation for the causes that such mishap should not be repeated in the near future.
