Six people lost their lives when an auto-rickshaw hit a Max vehicle on Delhi Highway near the Mujaria village in Uttar Pradesh's Badaun early morning of Diwali. There are five passengers in an auto-rickshaw badly injured and they are still undergoing treatment at the hospitals.

The accident happened around 7 a.m. on Thursday when the auto-rickshaw, carrying passengers traveling home from Noida to celebrate Diwali with family, collided with a Max vehicle coming from the wrong direction. The collision was massive, and the impact left the auto-rickshaw wholly wrecked.

The Accident Scene and Immediate Aftermath

This happened near the Mujaria village in the jurisdiction of Mujaria Police Station. After listening to the cries for help, the local people who were present at the spot rushed in and alerted the authorities there. The police rescued people from the wreckage while even arranging an ambulance which took them to the nearest local hospital. Fortunately, while six passengers are reported dead on arrival, five have been admitted with severe injuries.

Eyewitness Accounts and District Administration

Eyewitness described that scene as a whole mess and people around the site responded immediately to this mishap. District Magistrate budaun himself went for the site review, he instructed the district officers that the injured will get instant medical treatment, he ensured the injured getting first-aid. Police recovered bodies and sent them for postmortem.

The victims included Pana Devi, Sushma, Kanhai, Atul, Sheenu, and Kartik. The injured individuals are Captain Singh, auto driver Manoj, Megh Singh, Dharmveer, and Aman. They are at the hospital and are being monitored.

Accident Report and Police Inquiry

According to preliminary reports, the incident was an accident along Delhi Highway caused by the Max vehicle going in the opposite direction; at the time of this collision, another car rear-ended it, and then clipped the highway divider with people inside. Investigations continued by the police who sought to pinpoint a cause and were looking to review the safety measures taken so as to avoid such incidents on roads.

The accident is a grim reminder of road safety concerns during festive travel times, as congestion on roads and fatigue in drivers increase risks. Meanwhile, the district authorities in Badaun are providing necessary support to the families affected by this tragic incident.
