Youth Who Threatened MP Pappu Yadav Arrested, Cites Lawrence Bishnoi Link

An individual who threatened independent MP Pappu Yadav of Purnia with death was arrested from Delhi by police. Mahesh Pandey was arrested and taken into custody, confirmed Purnia SP Karthikeya Sharma at a press conference on November 2. The SP said Mahesh Pandey, a resident of Delhi, came under the police radar in their investigation regarding the threat against Yadav. In initial questioning, Pandey denied any connection with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.

SP Sharma revealed further that Mahesh Pandey has friends with several influential personalities, and that he has been employed previously in the canteens of AIIMS and also in several ministries of the government. Currently, he is jobless. This friendship with influential circles heightened more suspicion. Police plan to send Pandey to the court and apply for his remand to question him.

Further investigation has unveiled the fact that Pandey has many connections with some associates of MP Yadav. In this way, this case gets more complicated. According to reports, this threat call was made several times from different numbers, and the main number traces back to Dubai. Investigations also unveil the fact that this particular Dubai SIM card issued to Pandey's sister-in-law, who resides in Dubai, therefore leaving open other ways for further investigation.

Within days of the murder of Baba Siddiqui in Mumbai, the murder was followed by a publicized threat to Pappu Yadav. It had initially been associated with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, thereby setting off political tension and speculations of a direct confrontation between Yadav and the Bishnoi gang. This recent arrest and further questioning of Mahesh Pandey may unveil more insight and clarity regarding the gang's alleged involvement in this threat and potential political implications. The case remains under active investigation as all avenues are being persued.
