Father's Scam: Noida Man Falsifies Son's Age to Avoid Rape and Murder Charges
Noida: The police arrested a 32-year-old man from Noida on Monday for allegedly preparing a fake school transfer certificate establishing that his son, accused of rape and murder, was just 14 years old when he was arrested in 2016. The police and judicial authorities dealing with this case have been shocked by this scam.
The father, one Mohanlal, was in league with Nathuram, who headed a school in Kanpur Dehat. He fabricated the transfer certificate by stating that his son was underage at the time of his arrest. Assisted by this false document, the court sent the accused to a juvenile detention center in Phase-2, Noida.
The son was arrested in 2016 for the alleged rape and murder of a teenage girl in the Ecotech-3 area of Greater Noida. But when the victim's family produced genuine documents before the Juvenile Justice Board, questions were raised over the case, and the inquiry into the case was pursued further. While on further inquiry, police found Mohanlal was also indulging in forgery and had changed only the date on the transfer certificate in order to claim his son was minor.
While Mohanlal has been arrested, Nathuram is still absconding. Police officials termed the incident "a serious attempt to thwart justice" and said there are strong efforts to bring in every one responsible for such a heinous act.
