Indian wrestler Sakshi Malik has shared her regrets over returning her medal during a protest, admitting that just half a kilometer into walking away, she realized the mistake. In a candid interview, Sakshi expressed her disappointment, revealing that she felt the protest, which aimed to bring attention to important issues, was hijacked.

Realizing the Mistake

Sakshi Malik explained that after returning her medal in protest, she quickly realized that it was the wrong decision. Within half a kilometer, it hit me that we had returned the medal wrongly," she said. The athlete went on to say that the protest, which initially had genuine intentions, was taken over by external forces, leaving her and other athletes disillusioned.


Feeling Hijacked

The wrestler also opened up about how their efforts were overshadowed by other agendas. "Our protest was hijacked," Sakshi stated, shedding light on how athletes’ voices were drowned out by outside influences. The revelation has sparked fresh discussions around the struggles athletes face both on and off the field, and how their protests can sometimes be derailed by others.
