Friendship for the Future: Jaishankar and Saudi Foreign Minister Unify India-Saudi Ties with the Synergies of Vision 2030 & Vikshit Bharat 2047
India-Saudi Arabia Relations: The external affairs minister, Dr. S. Jaishankar, met the Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud in New Delhi. This was the second session of the Committee on Political Security, Social, and Cultural Cooperation under the India-Saudi Strategic Partnership Council.
Jaishankar described the India-Saudi partnership as "premised on progress and focused on the future." He hailed Saudi Arabia for its continued support to the 2.6 million-strong Indian community in the Kingdom, saying the welfare measures extended to them were appreciated.
Therefore, this meeting presented a wide gamut of India-Saudi cooperation, from defense to security. Jaishankar noted that bilateral exchanges on training and capacity-building initiatives now extend to include the defense industry and exports. Security cooperation between the two nations has also deepened, with joint efforts in counterterrorism, combating extremism, and tackling issues such as terrorism financing and drug trafficking.
One point worth noting is about the complementarity between Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 and India's Vikshit Bharat 2047 initiative. These ambitious plans, he said, provide fertile ground for strength to industrial partnerships and new avenues of cooperation.
The meeting underlined the depth and potential of India-Saudi relations with a mutual commitment to strengthening ties across political, economic, and cultural fronts-positioning both nations toward a promising future of strategic alignment and mutual growth.
