Kazhakoottam's First Women-Friendly 'Nivasa' She Lodge Set to Open for Onam

Kazhakoottam – In a significant move towards making the city more women-friendly, the Kazhakoottam municipality has completed the construction of the 'Nivasa' Women's She Lodge. The facility, strategically located near the Kazhakoottam Zonal Office, is designed to provide safe and affordable accommodation for women and children visiting the area for various purposes, including competitive exams and job interviews.

The newly constructed lodge spans four floors and includes 22 rooms, five of which are air-conditioned. The project, which cost ₹4.75 crore, also offers parking facilities. This initiative is expected to benefit female employees working in nearby IT hubs like Technopark, who often struggle with high rental costs in the area, as well as students from other regions.

'Nivasa' is set to be inaugurated during the upcoming Onam festival. The foundation stone for the lodge was laid in 2019 by former Mayor V.K. Prasanth. The lodge aims to provide a much-needed safe haven for women in the city, enhancing the overall safety and convenience of Kazhakoottam as a thriving urban center.
