Hyderabad News: GPS Failure in Saudi Desert Leads to Tragic Death of Telangana Man and Colleague

Hyderabad: In a tragic incident, a 27-year-old man from Telangana lost his life in Saudi Arabia's perilous Rub' al Khali Desert, also known as the Empty Quarter, after being stranded without food or water. The deceased, identified as Mohammad Shehzad Khan from Karimnagar, Telangana, succumbed to severe dehydration and exhaustion in one of the most dangerous terrains on earth.
Shehzad, who had been working with a telecommunications company in Saudi Arabia for the past three years, was on an adventurous trip through the desert with a Sudanese colleague. The Rub' al Khali Desert, notorious for its harsh and unforgiving conditions, spans over 650 kilometers across southern Saudi Arabia and neighboring countries.
During their journey, the duo faced a series of unfortunate events, starting with their GPS signal failing, leaving them disoriented and lost in the vast desert. As temperatures soared and resources dwindled, they were unable to navigate their way out, leading to the tragic outcome.
The Rub' al Khali Desert, with its extreme environment, proved too much for the pair, ultimately claiming their lives. The incident serves as a stark reminder of the dangers inherent in exploring some of the world's most inhospitable regions.
