Ratlam: Tensions flared in Morwani village of Ratlam as a large group of villagers clashed over a Christian prayer meeting being held in a building situated in a field away from the village.

According to sources, the building was being used to conduct Christian prayer sessions and provide information about Christianity to the villagers, including a large number of tribal people. This gathering attracted the attention of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP), whose officials and workers rushed to the spot, leading to a heated altercation and significant commotion.

As news of the confrontation spread, a police force from Ratlam arrived at the scene to control the situation and brought both parties to the police station for further questioning.

VHP activists have accused the organizers of inducing villagers to convert to Christianity by offering them various incentives. They also claimed to have found several Christian religious books at the site. The activists alleged that many of the tribal villagers were suffering from various illnesses and were being persuaded to convert to Christianity under the pretext of receiving treatment.



The police have stated that an investigation is underway to ascertain the facts of the case, and appropriate action will be taken based on the findings.

The incident has highlighted the ongoing tensions and sensitivity surrounding religious conversions in the region, prompting authorities to take a closer look at such gatherings and their implications on local communities.
