New Year 2025: Noida Police Cracks Down on Drunk Driving, Bars Warned Against Overserving Alcohol

As the new Year 2025 countdown has begun, Noida and Greater Noida are preparing for grand celebrations. More than 50 pubs, bars, and restaurants have prepared to host extravagant celebrations as many places have seen full advance bookings except for higher entry fees. The police, however, warned with strict fervor against drunk driving and over-serving alcohol.

Police have undertaken a comprehensive drink-and-drive campaign, warning that vehicles of offenders will be confiscated and fines will be collected. The authorities are also keeping tabs on the bars and restaurants to prevent them from allowing patrons beyond the permissible alcohol limits.

Demand for New Year Parties High

Popular places like Garden Galleria, GIP Mall, and DLF are charging ₹25,000 for a couple's entry. According to Excise Department estimates, there will be an all-time high of ₹30 crores in alcohol sales on the festival weekend, which has already sold 40 one-day liquor licenses.

Public Safety Focus

The district administration is undertaking patrolling to ensure that there is no law-and-order breach. The event places have been asked not to sell more tickets than the sitting capacity and have ensured following safety measures.

DCP, Noida said the campaign was to avoid the incident and ensure safe celebrations. There has been extra attention paid to locations such as Garden Galleria Mall that have had previous incidents at high footfall events. The public is requested to celebrate responsibly and by adhering to guidelines.
