Noida Property Inheritance Battle: Three Women Claim IAS Officer’s Estate After His Death

Noida Property Inheritance Battle: A heated property dispute has surfaced following the death of retired IAS officer Harishankar Mishra, with three women coming forward, each claiming to be his wife. Armed with marriage certificates, these women have staked their claims on Mishra's multi-crore property in Noida’s Sector 62, leaving officials in a dilemma.

The Background

Harishankar Mishra, a promoted IAS officer, retired in 2014 and passed away on July 11, 2014, after battling severe gastrointestinal issues. His death has led to a contentious battle over his estate, particularly a bungalow in Sector 62.

Multiple Claims on the Property

Following Mishra’s death, a woman named Sheeba approached the Noida Authority, presenting her marriage certificate and death certificate to claim the property. The authority began the property transfer process based on her application.

Second Claim by Anita Mishra

Shortly after, another woman, Anita Mishra, also approached the Noida Authority, claiming to be Mishra's wife for over 27 years. She provided her marriage certificate, death certificate, and other supporting documents. Anita also stated that she has two children with Mishra. This development forced the authority to halt the property transfer process for further investigation.

A Daughter’s Claim

Adding to the chaos, a third claimant emerged—a woman claiming to be Mishra’s daughter. She alleged that her mother, currently living in Kushinagar, is Mishra’s legitimate wife. She has also submitted documents to support her claim.

Noida Authority’s Response

The Noida Authority AGM confirmed that all claims and submitted documents are under investigation. The property transfer process remains suspended until the matter is resolved.

The Ongoing Battle

The dispute over Mishra’s property has not only created confusion among the claimants but has also highlighted the complexities of inheritance cases involving multiple claims. The final decision will depend on the authenticity of the submitted documents and the investigation’s outcome.
