Man Worships Mother’s Skeleton for 3 Months, Believes She’ll Come Back to Life!

In a bizarre and bone-chilling case from Guwahati, Assam, a 40-year-old man was found living with his mother’s skeleton, worshipping it daily and even trying to feed it, believing she would come back to life. The eerie tale came to light when neighbors, suspicious of a strange odor and the absence of the man’s mother, peeked through his window and made a spine-tingling discovery.

For three months, Jaydeep Dev had kept his mother’s body inside their home, refusing to let anyone in or step out himself. His mother, Purnima Devi, had passed away months earlier, but Jaydeep was convinced that his daily rituals of feeding and praying to her remains would somehow revive her.

It wasn’t until the overwhelming stench started bothering the neighbors that they decided to investigate. When they confronted Jaydeep about his mother's whereabouts, he casually said, “She’s dead.” Shocked, they pressed him further, but he simply retreated into his home, leaving everyone stunned.

Curiosity got the better of them, and peering through a window, they saw the horrifying sight—Jaydeep attempting to feed a skeleton. The neighbors immediately alerted the police, who arrived to find the decomposed remains of his mother. Jaydeep was taken into custody, with authorities stating that he seemed mentally unstable.

The mystery surrounding Purnima Devi’s death is still under investigation, and her relatives have been informed. As for Jaydeep, his belief that his mother would rise from the dead has left the entire neighborhood in disbelief.

This eerie case from Guwahati’s Robinson Street has sent shockwaves through the city, leaving people wondering what could drive someone to such an extreme act.
